CURBSIDE PICK-UP SERVICE

Detroit Greencycle offers curbside pick-up of recyclables and compost on a weekly ($20/month) or biweekly ($15/month) basis.  Pick-up is limited to one 18 gallon bin for recyclables and one 5 gallon compost bin.  Additional bins for each are available for an additional $10/month.

DELIVERY SERVICE

Detroit Greencycle can make deliveries of 300 lbs in weight and less from local businesses including the hardware store, grocery store, local farms, and between neighbors.

ACCEPTED RECYCLABLES

Paper - office paper, newspaper, colored paper, envelopes, junk mail, folders, construction paper,

cardstock, magazines, flyers (place in a separate bag to keep clean and dry)

Cardboard - boxes, cereal boxes, shoe boxes, tissue boxes, paper grocery bags (please flatten

and place larger boxes next to bin)

Aseptic - milk, soy, juice cartons (please rinse and flatten)

Plastic - #1, #2, #4, #5, #6, #7, plastic grocery and dry cleaning bags (please rinse)

Glass - clear, brown, green, blue, red (please rinse)

Metals - bottle tops, steel iron, and aluminum cans (please rinse)

We Do Not Accept - receipts, wrapping paper, napkins, tissue paper, anything soiled with food, glass composites, bubble wrap, plastic food and freezer bags

ACCEPTED COMPOST

Kitchen - uncooked fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and filters, egg shells, tea bags, untreated houseplant cuttings

Yard - untreated flowers, plant trimmings, grass, and leaves

We Do Not Accept - anything cooked, meat, fish, bones, dairy, oils, fats, sauces, ashes, pet waste, diseased plants, or mature weeds with seeds
